Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey set to be sold as per Mikel Arteta’s decision

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is contemplating the sale of midfielder Thomas Partey as he aims to revamp the team’s midfield for the upcoming summer.

Despite a commendable campaign, Arsenal faltered towards the end, narrowly missing out on the title to Manchester City.

Arteta is already eager to regroup for the next season and believes that significant reinforcements, particularly in midfield, are necessary for the team.

The primary target on Arteta’s radar is West Ham United captain Declan Rice, with the Hammers also linked to Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and potential free agent Ilkay Gundogan, who will be out of contract this summer.

Additionally, Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka is expected to depart for Bayer Leverkusen in a £15 million move.

However, it seems Xhaka might not be the only key player leaving the club during the summer transfer window. According to The Mirror, Partey is also being considered for a potential departure.

Turning 30 next month, Partey experienced a significant drop in form during the final stretch of matches, further reinforcing Arteta’s belief that midfield adjustments are necessary for the team’s success.
