Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has achieved something truly remarkable, surpassing a feat that no one else in the world has ever accomplished. Instead of the initially planned 96 hours, she dedicated a staggering 100 consecutive hours to cooking.
This extraordinary Nigerian chef set a new record for the longest individual cooking session, turning off her gas stove at 4 pm on Monday, May 15, 2023.
By 7:46 am on the following morning, Hilda had already exceeded the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes, set by Lata Tondon of India back in 2019.
This achievement stands as a testament to her exceptional talent, unwavering dedication, and indomitable willpower.
Throughout the duration of her record-breaking endeavor, the 27-year-old skillfully prepared hundreds of delicious meals that were served to the numerous Nigerians who flocked to Amore Gardens in Lekki, where she set up for this remarkable feat.
Over the course of four days, Hilda received comprehensive medical care from a team of doctors, trainers, and nutritionists, who supported her through challenging moments.
At one point, she experienced vomiting and exhibited clear signs of exhaustion and fatigue. However, with the assistance of her sous chef, Sunny, and the unwavering support of her family, especially her encouraging mother, as well as friends, politicians, celebrities, and well-wishers, Hilda persevered.
Her inspiring journey captivated the attention and support of Nigerians and people worldwide who watched in awe as she continued cooking, drawing strength from the enthusiastic crowd surrounding her.
Notable dignitaries, including the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and former Akwa Ibom State governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, made high-profile visits to her kitchen, acknowledging her extraordinary accomplishment.
It is truly astounding that Hilda Baci managed to sustain her cooking marathon for such an extended period, considering the exhausting nature of the task.
Her exceptional display of determination and resilience, enduring a grueling 100-hour cooking session, is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The Guinness World Records management are still reviewing this chef’s incredible accomplishment before officially inducting her name into the prestigious book, which already boasts numerous Nigerians who have achieved remarkable milestones in other categories.
