Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke better known as Davido has disclosed that being the last born in his family made it difficult for him to be taken seriously by his older siblings and other family members.
During an interview with Jazlyn on Jazzy’s World TV, the award-winning artist revealed that he enjoyed being the last born, but admitted that it came with some disadvantages.
Davido said that he only began getting attention from his older siblings and relatives when he became successful in the music industry.
He also revealed that another benefit of his position in the family was that his elder ones always had his back whenever he encountered problems.
The “Stand Strong” crooner is known for his successful music career and philanthropic activities.
Davido said; “When I wanted to do music, imagine being the last born of the family. I’m like, yo I want to do music. I’m going to be a superstar one day.
Imagine trying to influence everybody in a family [where] you are the last born. Nobody took me serious. You feel me?
But as I got older, they looked and they saw that, yo he is really good in this. And then finally, they let me do what I want to do. But being the last born, I love it. If I had a challenge, my older siblings, they will be at my back for real.”
