Juventus have reaped the benefits of having Angel Di Maria in their squad for a significant portion of this season, and they had been contemplating offering the World Cup winner a contract extension.
Di Maria’s exceptional performances propelled the team to the Europa League semi-finals, showcasing his immense talent.
However, the player’s form has markedly declined in recent weeks, leading to uncertainties surrounding his future at the club.
Initially, Juventus had engaged in discussions with di Maria’s representatives, expressing optimism about securing his extended stay. Yet, according to reports from Football Italia, the club has now suspended negotiations and intends to reassess their decision.
The player’s dip in form has raised doubts about his suitability for the squad in the upcoming campaign, prompting Juventus to reconsider his place within the team.
Juve FC says;
“Di Maria has been one of our best players in this campaign and the Argentinian has the experience to help us perform better as a team.
However, in the last few weeks, he has shown very little to suggest he will be useful next season.
We must be careful not to be stuck with an ageing player who can no longer deliver at this level while earning a huge salary from us”.
