Davido, a well-known Nigerian singer whose real name is David Adeleke, recently announced that he has initiated a new practice of charging artists who seek his participation in their songs.
During an interview with Bootleg Kev, Davido revealed that he has engaged his legal team to prepare contracts in response to this development.
Regarding collaborations with artists he is acquainted with, the talented artist disclosed that he now imposes a fee of $100k (equivalent to N46M) along with a music video.
He also hinted that the amount could be higher if the collaboration request comes from someone unfamiliar to him.
As expected, this news sparked diverse reactions among internet users. While some praised Davido for this decision, stating that it would discourage taking him for granted, others expressed the opinion that his fees should be even higher, considering his stature and influence in the music industry.
