The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared its intentions to install Video Assistant Referees (VAR) at regional stadiums around the nation, and referee training and retraining programs are now being developed to that end.
Malam Ibrahim Gusau, the federation’s president, made this announcement over the weekend in Ilorin during the National Elective Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA).
Gusau, represented by an NFF official named Malam Muhammed Ameenu, gave the association’s new leadership the task of developing development plans, forecasting, organizing, and making sure that Nigerian referees’ futures are properly cultivated and watered in order to advance the game.
Gusau stated that the installation of VAR is necessary to ensure the growth and development of football while emphasizing the NFF’s unwavering support for NRA in its efforts to transform the national game.
