“No wonder he didn’t win the election” – Nigerians react as Peter Obi exchanges cultists handshake with his lawyer and singer Phyno (Video)

Speculations surround the manner in which Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, greeted one of his lawyers at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Monday, May 8th.

The viral photo of Mr. Obi engaging in an unconventional handshake with his lawyer triggered reactions from various individuals, including Deji Adeyanju, a human rights activist.

Some individuals speculated that this peculiar handshake was associated with membership in a secret cult.

Before this controversial handshake, dissatisfied members from different political parties had gathered early in the morning of May 8th at the Presidential Election Petition Court. Cameras captured the moment Mr. Obi arrived at the court, creating a buzz on social media.

Upon his arrival, Mr. Obi exchanged pleasantries with his lawyers, which further fueled discussions online. The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, situated at the Court of Appeal, is comprised of a five-member panel of judges headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani. Other panel members include Justice Stephen Adah, Justice Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf, Justice Boloukuoromo Moses Ugo, and Justice Abbah Mohammed.

During the commencement of the pre-hearing on Monday, Channels Television reported a strong security presence, with police officers cordoning off the road leading to the court.

In a video shared on TikTok, Peter Obi was also captured exchanging a particular cult group handshake with some famous indigenous Nigerian rapper, Phyno.
