Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso has assured Nigerians and supporters of his side’s readiness to engage Italy U-20 in their next match of the FIFA U-20.
Nigeria kick-started its FIFA U-20 W’Cup on a high note after coming from behind to beat FIFA U-20 W’Cup newcomers Dominican Republic last weekend.
An own goal from Péna; and a strike from Samson Lawal ensures the Flying Eagles got a victory.
Despite possessing most of the ball, the Flying Eagles were bad in front to score. And that led to them failing to convert at least half of their chances.
Meanwhile, Italy last weekend beat, the World Cup favorites and five-time champions Brazil. And the victory got them to the top of the Group D table. Three first-half goals ensured the Italians got a deserved victory in a 5-goal thriller.
Speaking ahead of the Italy game on Wednesday, Bosso, assured fans that his team will be ready. And that, most mistakes noticed, will form the basis of their training sessions.
“I’ve said it earlier, the deficiency we saw in this match is going to be the content and topic for our training sessions to amend before our next match,” Bosso was quoted by Soccernet Nigeria.
A win for Nigeria against Italy at Estadio Malvinas Argentinas will ensure qualification to the next round of the tournament.
And on Saturday, Nigeria will play its last game of the Group against perennial rival and five-time champions Brazil.
