Popular Nigerian skitmaker, actor and internet sensation, Maryam Akpaogaki, widely known as Taaooma, has disclosed why she ventured into the music industry.
Wonder9ja reports that the comedienne while featuring as a guest on the latest episode of ‘The Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo, averred that entertainment is freedom and an individual can do anything.
According to Taaooma, she started doing music because she felt it would be better to use her songs in her comedy skits instead of using songs by other musicians.
She added that doing music is not so hard because she has a studio where she can record her songs.
She said, “For me, entertainment is freedom. You can do anything.
I also like the fact that it’s my music. It’s my song. It’s a song that I can be proud that I made. I just feel like, I’m using other people’s songs [in my skits], and this thing is not so hard. I have a studio, we can record songs.
“I love music. Some people used to say I have [a melodic] voice. But, I feel like, instead of me trying to sing, we can do collaborations and make something happen”
