Prominent Afrobeats Nigerian singer and music executive, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that he performed for free at the reception dinner of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
He made this known through his official Twitter page while responding to curious fans on Monday night.
A Twitter user wrote; “Many don’t know but Davido is Dr. Alex Otti’s godson and he’s in Umuahia at the inauguration after-party where he’s giving a full performance. It’s a full-blown show in Umuahia 🔥🔥🔥”
Another tweep tried to clarify if OBO truly didn’t get paid for event by asking: “Na free performance??”
In reaction, Davido said he did not receive a dime, and added that he has known Otti throughout his life.
The DMW boss also expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver good governance to the people of Abia state.
“Not a dime I’ve known Excellency all my life … and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia state,” Davido wrote.
